About the Journal
Welcome to SJ Book Reviews Africa. This is an international peer-reviewed journal that SJC Publishers Company Limited publishes. The Journal serves students, readers, or professional book reviewers interested in sharing their experiences while reading the book. Students who are planning a study in the given field are encouraged to do a book review and publish their experience here.
We accept manuscripts in different fields such as literature, History, Education, Psychology, and more.
Call for Books Reviews
SJ Book Review Africa is now receiving articles from students and other professionals in trendy, and recently published books in different areas such as Literature, History, Education, and psychology. We are therefore inviting reviews of books on topics relevant to the above fields.
Please note that General reviews are welcome at all times. These may include classroom coursework materials.
The journal also encourages reviews of books beyond African scholars. Books reviewed must be a publication of not more than 10 years ago, and appeal to an international readership.
A guide to the review
The book review should be 800-1500 words in length, and include the following aspects:
- A brief summary of the book’s information, including author(s) first and last name(s), title of book, year of publication, name of publisher, subject, and total page number.
- A concise overview of the book’s primary themes
- A critical analysis of the book’s significance to scholarship and practice by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses, relevance to the field, and comparison of other works on this subject.
- The soundness of the methods of the book and the information sources used.
- The intended audience for the book and who would find it useful
- The main ideas and major objectives of the book
- References, if applicable.
